The 2016 line of WaveRunner personnel watercraft is highlighted by the introduction of the all-new powerful, lightweight, three-cylinder Yamaha TR-1 High Output marine engine that powers all 2016 V1 and VX models.
The new Yamaha TR-1 marine engine is the pinnacle of engine innovation. Yamaha set out to build a more powerful engine than its predecessor, while also making it smaller, and lighter.
The TR-1 motor achieves just that, in a package with one less cylinder that is 13 percent more powerful that the Yamaha MR-1 engine that it is replacing, while being 40 percent smaller in size and 20 percent lighter in weight.
Yamaha achieved this by eliminating a reduction gear, integrating the oil tank, attaching the ECU/Air filter to the EG, and eliminating the need for certain parts.
The result us quicker acceleration, higher top-end speeds, with better fuel economy and more fun for the rider.
The VX Cruiser HO is a different animal all together powered by the same 1.8L normally- aspirated Yamaha marine engine that has carried the Yamaha VXR to four consecutive national racing titles.
That’s not to say that this little beast doesn’t have a tame side. VX Cruiser HO come equipped with the industry’s best comfort and convenience features, including NO Wake Mode, Cruise Assist and Yamaha’s award winning RiDE dual throttle handlebar controls.

Yamaha’s FZ Series, the most dominant machine in personal watercraft racing today, also has an all new look featuring new colour schemes and a bold metallic red hull.
The FZR is the racing craft of choice by both South African and world champion racers.
This model feature, fast back design for racing, quick shift trim system, adjustable telescopic steering for riding style, slip resistance hydro-turf mats, re-board step at the stern, race inspired graphics and an ergonomic step up seat. The sister model FZS gives the same great handling feature but includes a more comfortable seating arrangement and is much more of a family model. The FZS also comes with a stern mounted tow hook.
The Yamaha SuperJet, the only stand up watercraft on the market and are available in two colour variations in 2016.
